Get to Know the Author - Mark Oshiro

Meet Mark Oshiro

Why did you become an author?

Becoming an author has been my life-long goal; I have always felt drawn to telling stories!

What are you reading right now?

I am reading ILLUSIONARY by Zoraida Córdova and NOT SO PURE AND SIMPLE by Lamar Giles

Have you ever been to the Bronx? If so, what's a favorite memory? If not, what do you know or think about the Bronx?

Many times! My favorite memory happened in the midst of the pandemic. Using the subway and a bike, I managed to take my first trip outside of Brooklyn to visit Pelham Bay Park and have a solo picnic. The weather was stunning, and I was reminded how much I love New York.

What is a quote you live by?

"Better lives have been lived in the margins, locked in the prisons, and lost on the gallows than have ever been enshrined in palaces." Propagandi, "Purina Hall of Fame"
