A young Black man gets arrested after he is accused of a robbery that leaves the shopkeeper of the store dead. The young Black man is later arrested because of an eye witness seeing him at the scene. He then tells his story from jail as he meets new people who try to bring his hopes down, but he and his lawyer continue to fight for his innocence.

 

Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan

A modern 12-year-old boy finds out he is a Demigod from his father the greek god, Poseidon. He sets out to be a hero and seeks the underworld to stop a war between the gods. Jump into this book and have the adventure of a lifetime with Percy Jackson and his crew fighting to save the world and Olympus. 

 

Othello by Shakespeare

This book tells the story of Lago and his hatred for Othello and Desdemona and how he uses his evil plan to break them apart because of his jealousy towards Othello. As the story unfolds, Lago’s plan to destroy Othello's life comes to light and Othello kills Desdemona and is sentenced to prison for life.
