About Anna Malaika Tubbs
Anna Malaika Tubbs is a Cambridge Ph.D. candidate in Sociology and a Bill and Melinda Gates Cambridge Scholar. After graduating Phi Beta Kappa from Stanford University with a BA in Anthropology, Anna received a Master's from the University of Cambridge in Multidisciplinary Gender Studies. Outside of the academy she is an educator, DEI consultant, and the First Partner of Stockton, CA. She lives with her husband, the mayor of Stockton, Michael Tubbs, and their son Michael Malakai.
About Lisa Gill
Lisa M. Gill earned her PhD in American Studies at the University of Maryland. Her areas of specialization include Cultural Studies, Black Popular Culture, 20th Century U. S. History, Race, and Gender. Her latest article on Malcolm X can be found in the Popular Culture Studies Journal. For the past two years, Dr. Gill was a Lecturer in African/African American Studies at Fordham University, where she also serves as an Academic Dean for Seniors and an advisor for first and second year students.
