RENÉE WATSON
AUTHOR OF SOME PLACES MORE THAN OTHERS
Why did you become an author?
Because I love storytelling and I want more & more stories to exist about brown girls.
What are you reading right now?
Brandy Colbert's The Only Black Girls in Town.
Have you ever been to the Bronx? If so, what's a favorite memory you have? If not, what do you know or think about the Bronx?
I LOVE the Bronx. I taught poetry in Bronx for 10 years. My favorite Bronx memory is attending teen poetry open mics at DreamYard Arts Center.
What is a quote you live by?
“You alone are enough.” —Maya Angelou
